JOY ANYA LIM
Joy Anya T. Lim is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of ANTHILL Fabric Gallery, a Cebu-based social enterprise empowering indigenous weaving communities through sustainable livelihood and cultural preservation.
Founded in 2010 with her mother, Annie Tan Lim, ANTHILL—Alternative Nest and Trading/Training Hub for Indigenous Little Livelihood Seekers—addresses poverty and urban migration by turning traditional weaving into a viable economic opportunity.
In 2014, Anya launched the Community Enterprise Development Program (CEDP), now supporting 20 craft communities and 750+ artisans, 95% of whom are women. CEDP offers training in business development, leadership, and digital access, helping partner communities grow into self-sustaining enterprises.
Under Anya’s leadership, ANTHILL has:
Boosted artisan income by over 200% in three years;
Upcycled 6,000+ kg of textile waste;
Launched the first community-owned fabric store;
Created programs to preserve cultural heritage and foster local leadership.
Anya Lim’s work sits at the intersection of social innovation, women’s empowerment, and cultural sustainability—making her a standout changemaker for the Ramon V. del Rosario Siklab Award 2024.
